Dr. Lussier is board-certified in Neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with subspecialty continued recertification in Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). She has also served as an instructor at Harvard Medical School in Neurology and has spent many years in private practice in both HMO and solo practice settings. In addition, she has had the opportunity to participate in AANEM Podcasts and interviewed Dr. Michael Cartwright for a two-part series on Peripheral Nerve Ultrasound in 2010.
Currently, her practice focuses on Neurophysiologic testing with the aim of diagnosing, characterizing and localizing peripheral nerve problems in her patients. Each person and their problems are unique, and she is motivated and inspired daily in the process of investigating the cause of their symptoms.
Her specialty relates to the testing of nerve function in the arms, legs and spinal roots. Many conditions can impair how nerves transmit motor and sensory signals. Sometimes nerves are compromised in several locations in a single limb. She is careful and thorough in testing for the various locations and conditions that might be causing pain, numbness or weakness. A very important aspect of her care for patients is listening to how and where they experience discomfort and matching this with the results she finds on a focused physical and electrodiagnostic examination. Thus, she sees patient participation in the process of diagnosis a vital ingredient in the overall assessment of their neurological condition.
